about us

I'm Kelly and I run the Mum's guide to Ampthill page and social media pages.

I live just outside Ampthill in Houghton Conquest with my 5 and 2 year old boys and our bulldog. We are also expecting baby number 3 in May!

I love getting out and about with my family, either to classes and playgroups, local attractions and events and local walks with the dog (when he wants to!) so I hope I’ll have a lot to offer in terms of great things to do in and around Ampthill and the local villages.

I know how important it is, particularly as a new parent to find things to do, not only for your children, but for you to socialise too. I really enjoyed going to different baby and toddler groups with my boys, meeting other parents, sometimes they were the only thing that kept me sane!

As well as being a mum to two boys, I also work as a Digital Marketing Manager looking after all the digital channels for my company and have worked across many different industries - retail, travel, food manufacturing, hospitality and education for the last 15 years. I have just started Maternity Leave for baby number 3, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this and applying my expertise to the website.

My goal is to provide a website and social pages packed with so much local information for families, that you really don’t need to look elsewhere. I know how busy life is as a parent, and I’m hoping to take the hard work out of finding great things for you to do for quality family time together.

If there’s anything else you’d like to see on the website, please do get in touch through my social channels or email [email protected].

And do say hi if you see us out and about! I'll be the one running after 2 little ones with a baby strapped to me!

About Mum’s Guide To Ltd

Mum's Guide To Ltd began in 2012 when four mums from Harpenden set-up a website to give local families in a comprehensive, one-stop shop to find all the information they needed about living in the area with children.  The site quickly grew to become the most popular site for Harpenden parents and carers. In 2017 the mums decided to spread their wings by launching Mum’s guide to UK giving parents across the country the opportunity to set up their own local Mum’s Guide To sites.

Our philosophy is quite simple:

  • Each site focuses on a single town and is run by local parents.
  • It covers children of all ages from bumps to teens.
  • It’s as comprehensive as possible - covering activities and things to do, parties, local facilities, services and child-friendly businesses.
  • We are pro-active about seeking out new businesses and keeping the information up-to-date.
  • A basic listing is always free so even the smallest groups and new businesses can be included.
