Herts Book Festival 2024
Southern Maltings
Sun 19th May 2024
10am - 4pm
The Herts Book Festival is an annual festival for the benefit of the people in Hertfordshire. Our county is home to dozens of authors. Hertford and Ware alone account for more than 22 book clubs, at least 15 booksellers, two amazing libraries and tens of thousands of potential readers.
Our small committee of multi-taskers believe in the power of strong community spirit. Drawing our inspiration from the number of talented published authors we have on our doorstep, the Herts Book Festival is a free event for people of all reading ages and abilities - because we believe books are for everyone.
Come and join us to enjoy our local author market (40 local authors showcasing their works), talks, storytelling, the book exchange (bring a book, take a book), crafts, face painting and more.
The festival will be held across all the rooms at Southern Maltings - both upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs café and upstairs bar area will be available for refreshments on the day.
Southern Maltings is a beautiful historic building that volunteers are developing into an amazing not-for-profit arts and performance centre.
Southern Maltings is the trading name of Ware Arts Centre Limited and is a registered charity (Registered charity no. 276998). All events are run by volunteers and proceeds go towards developing the Southern Maltings into an amazing creative arts centre which will enable us to put on a wider and more frequent range of events and activities for the whole community.
