Welwyn Wheelers cycling club and This Girl Can, the nationwide campaign to get women and girls moving, regardless of shape, size and ability, are providing a free Track Cycling taster session for girls and women aged 8+.

This session is an opportunity for women and girls (over 8) to try out riding a specialist track bike at our outdoor velodrome in Welwyn Garden City. Track bikes have no gears or brakes and are controlled by the pedals; the simplicity of them makes them great fun!

The session will be run by our fully trained British Cycling Coaches.

We lend track bikes, so all you need to bring is a helmet, wear flat trainer-type shoes and close-fitting clothing. We suggest layers in case of changing temperatures.

Enthusiasm, smiles and energy are also most welcome. We specialise in helping people who have little confidence on a bike in our safe and inclusive environment, and also offer specialised coaching for those who wish to take up cycling as a hobby or competitively.
