Welcome to The Fox Collective

The Restorative Fourth Trimester: A Guide to Postnatal Recovery at The Fox Collective

About The Fox Collective - Nestled in the heart of Hitchin, The Fox Collective is a medically regulated clinic dedicated to calm, regenerative & restorative treatments. We believe in a gentle, evidence-based approach to well-being, blending advanced clinical diagnostics with a sanctuary-like environment. Our mission is to provide a space where science meets soul, ensuring every patient feels seen, heard, and meticulously cared for.

The Journey to Restoration - The transition into motherhood is a profound physical and emotional journey. While much of the focus is on the arrival of the new baby, the "Fourth Trimester" is a critical period for maternal restoration. We offer a clinical yet gentle sanctuary for mothers to reclaim their physical and neurological well-being.

Restoring the Foundation: Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation - One of the most common functional complications following childbirth is pelvic floor dysfunction. Whether you are experiencing stress incontinence or a loss of core strength, we utilise Emsella technology—a non-invasive, "walk-in, walk-out" treatment.

While fully clothed, Emsella delivers thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions. To ensure your absolute comfort and privacy, our Emsella chair is situated in a dedicated, bespoke treatment suite. This private space allows you to relax, read, or simply find a moment of stillness while the technology works to improve your pelvic health.

The Sanctuary: Holistic Postnatal Recovery - Beyond functional repair, the body requires deep, nervous-system rest to heal. Our practitioner, Mia, provides a suite of holistic therapies specifically beneficial for the postnatal period:

  • The Deep Heat Ritual (Lava Shells): A deeply grounding treatment using warm shells to soothe the shoulder and upper back tension that often comes with feeding and carrying a newborn.

  • The Botanical Restoration: A bespoke aromatherapy session focused on lymphatic drainage to help reduce postnatal swelling and balance hormones through therapeutic-grade oils.

  • The Inner Calm: An Indian Head Massage designed to release the "digital strain" and tension headaches common in the early weeks of sleep deprivation.

When Can I Start? To ensure your body has had adequate time for initial healing, we adhere to strict clinical timelines:

  • Post-Vaginal Delivery: We welcome you for Emsella, massage, and body treatments from 6 weeks, following your GP check-up.

  • Post-C-Section Delivery: To allow for deep tissue healing, we recommend waiting 12 weeks before commencing pelvic floor rehabilitation or deep abdominal work.

Skin & Spirit: Postnatal Glow - The hormonal shifts following birth can leave skin feeling depleted. Our Postnatal Restoration Facials use gentle, pregnancy-safe Obagi protocols to rehydrate "tired mum" skin, while our regenerative treatments can target stretch marks at a cellular level once your initial recovery is complete.
