Rachel Harris Professional Tutoring Ltd offers comprehensive and engaging 11 Plus tuition for Year 4 and Year 5 students. Rachel Harris is a fully qualified teacher who spent over a decade working in Chesham Grammar School, first as Lead Teacher for the More Able and Talented and later as Subject Leader for Politics. Rachel personally oversees the planning and delivery of all lessons ensuring that students are familiar with the material and question types.

The Year 4 course introduces the 11 Plus in a fun and engaging way. Students work on securing strong foundations and there is an emphasis on problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Students also endeavour to widen their vocabularies as much as possible. As the year progresses students are pushed beyond the national curriculum and are exposed to a number of new concepts and challenging texts in Maths and English.

Year 5 sees students working at pace through the different 11 Plus topics. They learn a range of techniques to tackle the different question types. As the year progresses they begin to complete ever more challenging work in timed conditions and are given a range of GL Assessment Practise papers in order to fully familiarise themselves with the format of the exam. Exam technique is also a big focus and students are explicitly taught methods such as box breathing and time management throughout the course.
