Buckinghamshire Music Trust Summer Festival

Chiltern Open Air Museum are pleased to be hosting Bucks Music Trust's Summer Festival this July. Around 600 amateur musicians, ranging from beginners to advanced, will be performing on two stages in the open air, with groups, ensembles and choirs of all different types.
Bucks Music Trust has Music Centres in Amersham, Aylesbury and High Wycombe, all running a wide range of activities including orchestras, choirs, big bands, string ensembles, concert bands, pop bands, wind ensembles, guitar groups, percussion groups and more.
All the groups will perform, in a mix of individual and combined groups with great choices of repertoire for you to enjoy from many different genres, with music playing from 12.30-6.30pm.

This July Chiltern Open Air Museum will be hosting the Bucks, Beds and Herts British Driving Show where you can see traditional and modern horse drawn carriages in arena parades. This event is perfect for enthusiasts and families alike, offering a glimpse into the elegance and craftsmanship of carriage driving.
You can also see some blacksmith demonstrations in our Victorian forge.
Please note that this event will not go ahead in wet weather.
£13 for adults and £10 for kids if pre-booked

Adapted from Quentin Blake's classic tale, Mrs Armitage on Wheels, Scoot Theatre present a 40-minute interactive, energetic show, celebrating the joy of getting outdoors and being active. Scoot Theatre's adaptation is a fun, family show suitable for aged 3+ and particularly enjoyable to primary-aged children, featuring live music, puppetry and physical comedy, Mrs Armitage on Wheels celebrates the power of imagination, the importance of resilience and the joy of embracing the great outdoors.

A large walk-in labyrinth of colour and light will fill the lawn at Stockwood Discovery Centre this August. Visitors are invited to don a primary-coloured cloak to become part of the colour experience and step into a new world of intense colour and light.
You can freely walk anywhere to explore this amazing space and will discover musicians and dancers anywhere inside leading you on a journey of all the senses. The musicians may be found in a large Silver Dome playing unusual instruments - maybe Tibetan Singing bowls or Asian instruments or instruments of water, maybe playing the branch of a tree or a bicycle wheel with a violin bow! And the dancers express the music with creative movement that draws you into the experience.

Join us for our first Open Event of the new academic year on Saturday 20 September.
This day includes a chance to hear from our Head, Mrs Sharon Schanschieff, as well as tour our vast and impressive school site, dropping in on the different departments in both the prep and senior school, where you will meet our Heads of Department who will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Other members of staff will be on hand to share information and answer any questions about admissions (including scholarships), our extensive school transport network, cocurricular provision, uniform, catering and much, much more.
