Home of Stanborough Park Watersports Centre, on the South Lake you can take part in a wide range of activities for adults and children: Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Rafting, Open Water Swimming, Holiday Clubs, Health Walks and our Aqua Inflatable are examples of what we have on offer. Learn a new sport as a family with our taster sessions, or embark on our Adult and Youth RYA, or BC courses. If you are looking for something fun, jump on to our Aqua Inflatable sessions or book your own unique group activity out on the water.

At the farthest end of the popular Stanborough Park Lakes is a quiet and rich wildlife haven, including the third-largest reedbed in Hertfordshire. The reserve is composed of willow woodland, river bank and fine reed marsh. In the summer you may see water figwort, common meadow rue and water chickweed along the river bank.

Tewin Orchard represents an almost extinct feature of the English countryside: that of small village orchards with varied and often local fruit varieties. Today the orchard is great for apples & pears and home to a wide variety of wildlife. In autumn and winter the apples attract large numbers of redwings, fieldfares and blackbirds.

Deep in Tewin Orchard lies a mammal hide facing a sprawling badger sett of more than ten badgers. We are thrilled to offer an evening of badger watching here - a special night you're sure to remember!

This delightful area lies around the southern boundaries of the QEII Hospital and has a range of habitats including oak woodland, calcareous fen, meadows, ditches and ponds. Access is via footpaths off The Commons, Howlands and Caponfield in Welwyn Garden City

This play area is enclosed and close to houses. There is a roundabout, two springers and toddlers swings. There are two benches for parents to sit and watch their children play.

As one of the largest and most challenging courses of its kind, this is outdoor entertainment at its very best - do you have the head for heights to take on the 30ft "Hawks View" high ropes course? Or perhaps the "Monkey Trail" at just 10ft high will bring the ape out in you. Don't forget to try the zip, climbing wall or plummet from the summit on the powerfan descender.

This is a small site with a metal climbing frames, a springer, a swing hammock and a spinning bowl. There is another site close by.
