Are you ready to launch into outer space for 2019’s Space Chase Challenge? This year’s Summer Reading Challenge from The Reading Agency will see our Astronaut team of joiners chasing across the skies to capture the rogue aliens who are taking off with Hertfordshire Libraries books. We need you to join the challenge in celebration of 50 years since the first moon landing. This is a great opportunity to develop skills and enjoy reading as a family.
To take part in the challenge, children will need to join and read any six Hertfordshire Library books – the selection of books is as endless as our universe– it is all about finding something fun and engaging that you want to read. You have the whole summer to get stuck in and we love it when you come and visit us to tell us all about your books and collect the stickers for your mission pack. Every child that completes their six books by 7th September will receive a certificate, medal and prize and a chance to win a VIP pass to our prize draw event at Mission control.
Space Chase launched on 13 July 2019 – with lots of fun and interactive space activities across Hertfordshire. Bishop’s Stortford will be hosting a mobile planetarium - your Childs’ access to the stars! Be sure to book your space and not miss out.
Meanwhile, Marshalswick Library will be hosting a virtual reality Space Walk on 30 July!
The best news is this: Space Challenge is completely free to take part. Just zoom in to your local Hertfordshire Library to join from 13 July and blast off!
Last year we had over 20,000 children within Hertfordshire taking part – Help us break the record this year by joining us in our Space Chase Mission.
