We offer high standard swimming lessons in a safe, friendly environment for children and adults of all abilities. Our enthusiastic teachers have taught thousands of children to swim. We have teachers with experience ranging from toddlers all the way up to pre-competition. Our teachers aim to make lessons fun and relaxed to support learning.

Making Waves is a family business, owned and run by Millie Herbert. We run weekly lessons at Sandringham School in St Albans and Aldwickbury School in Harpenden. All lessons are 30 mins long & all our swimmers work towards recognised Swim England Awards. We also offer crash courses in most school holidays at Sandringham School and Aldwickbury School. Making Waves offers a friendly & relaxed environment, where your children will be eager to join in, have fun, build water confidence & of course, learn to swim.

All of our teachers are highly qualified to tailor every activity to suit each child, ensuring that they progress at their own pace. We also teach personal survival skills and run pyjama week once a term. We offer flexibility so that you are able to book yourself off on holiday and book into an alternative session to make up for any missed classes (subject to availability) and we also provide a 3 week cancellation policy.

Sea Lion Swim School provides high quality swimming lessons for children from 4 years upwards on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Our aim is to not only teach your children to swim - but to swim well! Our swimming lessons are located in a superb 25m pool at St Albans High School for Girls and classes run from Beginner level through to our Lengths programme. The enthusiastic and dedicated Sea Lion team, led by Owner Gill, are committed to ensuring your child reaches their maximum potential using our progressive award scheme.

Teach your baby to swim! Join our fantastic award winning classes which aim to teach you how to teach your little one to swim. Our swimming classes are well structured and stimulating for baby and you. They are a great way to bond as well as provide both of you with a little work out! We teach pupils 3 years and over, through 1 to 1, 1 to 2, or group coaching sessions. It's important to us that our swimmers are safe, that they learn and have fun. With a maximum of 6 per group for non-swimmers and beginners' tuition, and with tailored teaching plans, our team of qualified instructors are able to do that. We have different ability groups running at the same time.

Our Active Kids programme offers fun activities for children ranging from six months to 15 years old including swimming, gymnastics,trampolining and climbing. These sessions run both during term-time and the school holidays. All our activities aim to encourage children to live a more healthy and active lifestyle, as well as promoting teamwork and co-operation over competition.

All teachers are ASA qualified, DBS checked and hold Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certicates, We follow the Swim England Programme starting awards from Stage 1 through to Gold Challenge.
