Weald Park Country Show is BACK!

Published:

The local show with something for everyone!

As we cautiously make our way out of lockdown and into some sort of normality, it’s so exciting to be able to talk about actual real events that are happening in our area.

Kicking off the summer, The Weald Park Country Show is back with a bang!

This is always a hugely popular event and there is so much to see and do for all the family. Let’s see if I can remember everything that is going on!

This year there will be a new motorbike display with the fantastic BMX and motorbike team – you can even have a go on a BMX at the show. For horse lovers there will be demonstrations from the UK Barrel Racing Team and great fun with the Dog & Duck shows! You can experience falconry up close with World of Wings birds of prey displays, Living History displays and the amazing African Dancers.

For the adrenalin junkies there will be Circus Aerial Displays to the Greatest Showman and wrestling fun with the Wrestleforce Team. We all love a sing-a-long and the Abba Tribute act will oblige and get the singing started! There will be Magic Shows, Outdoor Theatre Performances and you can visit the Living History Village and try your luck with the Living History Archery

And if all that isn’t enough to entertain the family…

The Festival of Dogs

Visit the Festival of Dogs where there will be Charity Fun Dog Shows with 20 classes a day covering really fun categories like Most Appealing Eyes, Dog Most Like Owner, Dog Agility and Child’s Best Friend – handled by a young person. There is even a Doggie Talent Show!

The Festivals of Kids

A family day out has to cater for everyone and as we all know only too well, keeping the kids entertained is key to a smooth running day! Specifically for the kids there will be Classisauras the T-Rex Dinosaur who will be joined by his Storm Trooper friends. There will be lots for the children to see and do including Punch and Judy, Gemma’s Petting Farm, reptiles, rides and loads more fun.

The Festival of Cars

As always there will be a huge display of the vintage, classic and unusual. In previous years the Festival of Cars area has had amazing array of entries on both days with many different and exciting cars for all those car fans out there.

The Festival of Food

The food markets will have some fabulous producers and suppliers on hand to tempt us. There will be lots of food stalls at the show and cookery demonstrations from Chefs including Italian Chef Claudio Bincoletto and many others.

There is absolutely no chance of anyone going hungry!

Shopping!

We know how supporting small businesses and producers is vital after the lockdown period and what is a day out without a little bit of shopping! You can sample local foods and visit rural crafters who will be demonstrating their skills as well as selling their creations. There will be a vast array of stalls selling all sorts of items.

So whether you are a fan of country shows in general, a foodie looking forward to sampling some great produce from local producers, suppliers and caterers, a dog lover looking forward to seeing the dog shows, or just excited at the prospect of a family day out with a huge range of entertainment - this could be the perfect weekend event for you!

My tips for a great day out

  • Plan your day and check out what is happening in the exhibition rings. This way you can see what interests you and your family and get the most out of your day. You can check out the timings for demonstrations here – keep checking as more information may be added.
  • If you have small children it is always a good idea to locate the toilets and baby changing stations when you arrive as they may be a little walk away from where you are when they are needed. There are disabled toilets on site which have baby changing facilities.
  • Prepare for all weathers! You just never know how it will pan out on the day!
