This beautiful nature reserve south of the River Great Ouse consists of four lakes which are former gravel pits. Interspersed with the lakes are areas of grassland and ancient hedgerows which provide habitats for many birds. Godmanchester Recreation Ground has a junior playpark with swings, a climbing frame and slide, a seesaw, roundabout and pirate ship. The senior playpark has wooden climbing equipment. There is also adult outdoor gym equipment and plenty of grassland for picnics and sports, plus access to Portholme Meadow.
