Battle of Huntingdon - Civil War Re-enactment
Castle Hills Park
Sat 2nd July 2022 - Sun 3rd July 2022
11am-4pm
On Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July we'll be working with the History Festival and our friends form the Sealed Knot to stage a re-enactment of the 'Battle' of Huntingdon in August 1645, when Royalist forces commanded by King Charles I took the town after a short skirmish and occupied it for 2 days, plundering most households.
The event is open to the public 11am - 4pm with a skirmish at 3pm on both days. Explore the living history encampments, meet various of our costimed characters, take part in 'have a go' sessions (from soldier's drill to 17th century school lessons) and immerse yourself in life 370 years ago.
The event is open 11am - 4pm both Saturday and Sunday, admission is free of charge.
Please be aware that Castle Hills Park is an archaeological site; as such the ground is uneven and appropriate footwear is advised.
