Join local Artist Keeda in this fun and colourful art workshop. Exploring mark making and paper cutting, You will be drawing inspiration from artist David Hockney. Looking at his colourful landscapes, we will use oil pastels and colour papers to create a jungle world, inside a shoebox.

Keeda says "I love paper crafts and collage, It's all about experimentation. While looking at David Hockney's use of bright colours and quick simple mark making, we will create something visually fun and exciting, without being held back by being precise"

Keeda is a new tutor to Southern Maltings, running some delightful fully booked workshops at May Half Term. She has plenty of experience of teaching children art with local group Art Explorers. She is also a local artist and sells her prints on Etsy under her brand of Kiki Wren Designs.

She says "I grew up in an exceptionally creative family. Full of architects, artists, landscape designers and art teachers, so naturally I have loved art and creating from a young age.

I was always encouraged artistically as a child, which is where my passion for teaching art to children, in a fun and informative way, stems from. I have a foundation degree in Fine Art and have several years of experience working with children. Formerly an Art and design technician and teaching assistant, I now teach after school art clubs in a couple of the local schools. I have always had lists of my own ideas I've wanted to teach, so finally I decided to branch out and start teaching my own holiday art workshops, in the hope that my ideas will inspire the same passion I feel, with the children"..

This workshop is designed for children and teens aged 8+ and all materials will be provided. Just bring your creativity and enthusiasm, and we'll take care of the rest!

This is a drop off workshop with our DBS certified tutor with a maximum of 12 students.

The workshop will run from 1.30pm -3.30pm on Thursday 7th August and is costed at £20. Morning and Afternoon Workshops can be booked separately, but if you book this workshop in a combined ticket together with Keeda's Concertina Dolls House Workshop then you will get a £6.50 discount and the kids can do art all day!

Tickets for the Jungle Shoebox Workshop only are £20 per child and for both sessions making an all-day fun art camp from 10am - 3pm for £36. You should send a packed lunch with your child and they will be looked after at lunchtime by our DBS checked staff.

The workshop will take place in our Main Studio with access via the East End.

We are currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment of our Café area at the East End of the building and therefore access is temporarily via our lower studio.
