12 Things to do this Easter for under £5 pp.

Easter is on the horizon and without proper research and planning it can end up with bored children and empty pockets.

Here at Mum's Guide to Hertford we aim to make your job a little easier, so we've done the research for you and have brought to you ten top things that you can do locally this Easter for under £5 pp including arts and crafts sessions, zoos, farms, workshops and more.

Now obviously we are aware we have a range of followers with a range of different ages so this is by no means an extensive list. However we have lots more generic ideas of free of cheap things to do here: and here.

1: Drop in Arts and Crafts at Hertford Museum £3.50 per child.

Free places are available for those on low incomes (with evidence)

2: Celebration of Spring at Lowewood Museum (FREE)

3: Easter Trail at Cedars Nature Centre

Feed a meerkat, feed the fish, say hi to the skunks and kookaburras as well as an easter trail All for just £2.40 pp (also set in a beautiful historic parkland) * set talk times apply.

4: Hertford Library Easter Egg Hunt (FREE)

5: Superhero Yarn Town Centre Trail (FREE)

6: Free Family Easter party at the harvey centre

7: The Spring Trail at RSPB Rye Meads 

£2 per trail sheet (children can share) small carparking charge applies. This delightful wetland reserve beside the River Lee is a firm favourite with walkers, birdwatchers and photographers thanks to its many trails and hides. Very interactive for small children too (don't forget your wellies!)

8: Harlow Pets Corner and Park

9: Hertford Heath Easter Egg Hunt. 

10: Scotts Grotto Mischeif monday- £2 per child including a hand crafted mouse and a chocolate

11: Parndon Wood Nature Reserve

A really cute nature reserve with den building area, lots to explore and a cute little tea room.

12: Meet Skye from Paw Patrol - FREE

Bonus activity for older children and families: Geocaching!
