The leaves are turning, the conkers are beginning to fall and Halloween is very nearly upon us. We are more excited than ever to bring you our pumpkin-packed guide to the best places your little pickers can get their ripe squashes this October, along with some local Halloween events.

Halloween in the Old Town
Takes place on Sunday 25th October between 3pm and 7.30pm, finished with a fire works display in Gadebridge Park. Dress as your favourite Halloween character for added spooks! There will be entertainment and activities, market stalls and food and drink. The Old town hall will also host a programme of performances and shows.
Ye Old Red Lion Kids Halloween party
On Wednesday 28th October between 2 and 4pm, the Red Lion in Nash Mills will transform into a Halloween venue . With Games, music, treats and prizes. Go dressed in your best costume to get into full Halloween swing.
Spooky Trail, Chorley wood
29th and 30th October 2026 – 10am – 3pm. A fun Halloween themed trail across Chorley wood common. Follow spooky clues, explore the woods and discover surprises along the way. £3.50 per child. Book on the website.
Two Oaks Pony Sanctuary
On Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November, join this Halloween event. Spooky fun for all ages. Activities include, carving your own pumpkin, a scavenger hunt and pony grooming. £8 per child with proceeds going to the charity (Cash only on the day).
The Pop Up Farm, J9 M1
The Pop Up Pumpkin Farm is back for 2026!
Your ticket will include: parking, use of a wheelbarrow, and access to the pumpkin patch, The Pitstop Cafe, straw stack and insta-props.
You'll need to book in advance and be there within your time slot, but can stay as long as you like.

Mead Open Farm Freaky Fun Fest, Leighton Buzzard
24th – 31st October.

Aldenham Country Park Spook-Fest, Elstree
“Spook-fest” runs from 10th October to 31st October. This event is geared towards families. Pre book your ticket on the website to get access to the farm, featuring the Aldenham Mausoleum and Spooky Shack and other activities such as Giant Puzzles, Pumpkin Hunt, Mini Tractor Play, Bouncy Castle and the Dance Tunnel. Also, Interactive Shows and Activities with Aldenham's Scarecrows (17th-18th & 24th-31st October)

Between the 10th and 31st October, pick your pumpkin from Willow’s pumpkin patch. This is included with an entry ticket along with all the other fun things that Willows has to offer! Book tickets online.
Hitchin Lavender
Open from the 10th October 2026, book tickets online for specific entrance times. Pick your own pumpkin from the field with dozens of different types of pumpkins and squashes grown on site. The site also has lots of Halloween props for that perfect autumn/Halloween slot, live actors, street food and hot drinks on site and lots more.
