Hertfordshire's Pumpkin Patches 2021

The leaves are turning, the conkers are beginning to fall and Halloween is very nearly upon us. And with all the restrictions last Autumn, we are more excited than ever to bring you our pumpkin-packed guide to the best places your little pickers can get their ripe squashes this October.

Be it a modest jack-o-lantern or a gargantuous pumpkin big enough to get you all to the ball, we've covered every patch, promising all shapes and sizes. And you'll find all the details you need listed below. Happy picking!

Langleybury Children's Farm 

To celebrate their final day of opening to the public this year, Langleybury Children's Farm will host a pumpkin hunt at the farm from 11am - 5pm on Saturday 30th October.

In addition to being able to view and feed the usual animals at the farm, children will also be able to take part in a pumpkin hunt and carve their pumpkins onsite.

Tickets will need to be booked in advance via their website. Please note tickets will not include the cost of the pumpkin hunt, but these can be bought on the day in the shop on arrival.

Rumblers Farm, Potten End

Rumblers will have its popular pumpkin trail in place and be open to the public from 11am - 5pm: Saturday 9th October.

The family run farm on Potten End Hill are known for their impressive selection of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes - ranging from minis you can cup in the palm of your hand to 20kg+ and more than 30 different types of squash! 

The farm will be open both Saturdays and Sundays in the lead up to Halloween, while pumpkins/squashes last.

The Pop Up Farm, J9 M1

The Pop Up Pumpkin Farm is back for 2021 and now open!

Your ticket will include: parking, use of a wheelbarrow, and access to the pumpkin patch, The Pitstop Cafe, straw stack and insta-props.

You'll need to book in advance and be there within your time slot, but can stay as long as you like.
Slots will be released on a week-by-week basis. You can now book for the 9th/10th and the 16th/17th.

Tickets are £2.95 (per person) plus a small booking fee. Under 2s go free, but they will still need a ticket.

Tickets for the following weekend will go on sale in due course. Keep an eye on their website!

Christmas Tree Farm, Chesham

Pick the perfect pumpkin at Christmas Tree Farm in Chesham this October. Choose from the thousands grown at this hidden gem of a farm, tucked away in the Chiltern Hills. Or simply turn up for a walk and enjoy the views.

Entrance is free and there is no need to pre-book.

  • 10.30am to 4pm Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th October and every day thereafter until all pumpkins are sold.

Woodside Animal Farm Halloween Fun, Slip End

Saturday 23rd - Sunday 31st October

Tickets are still available (and will need to be booked in advance) for Woodside's spooktastic Halloween Event this Autumn. Kicking off on Saturday 23rd October.

Create a cookie, make a ghoulish Halloween decoration to take home and keep, find the witches, ghosts and golden pumpkin hidden in and around the farm to win a gruesome prize! All this in addition to the usual animals, bouncy pillows and tractor rides included in your entry price. An extra fee applies to pick a pumpkin from their patch.

Tickets need to be booked in advance. Adults & children (non-members): £13.50. Children (members): £4. Under 2s are free but will still need a ticket.

Mead Open Farm Pumpkin Spooktacular, Leighton Buzzard

Saturday 23rd – Sunday 31st October.

There's always a whole lot of fun to be had at Mead Open Farm, and this Halloween is no exception.

Help Little Red Riding Hood find her way back to Grandma's House in "Scary Tales". Brave the terrific twists and turns of Mr Toppers' Twister. And befriend the ghosts and gruesome ghouls in the haunted house. All this in addition to the usual fun of the farm including; tractor rides, bouncing pillows, ride-ons/go-karts & crazy golf.

Tickets need to be booked in advance and will include a pumpkin for every paying child.

Adults: £12.45 - £16.25, Children £11.45 - £15.25. Under 18 months go free, but will still need a ticket.

Aldenham Country Park Spook-Fest, Elstree

Saturday 16th October - Sunday 31st October.

This year's Spook-Fest returns at Aldenham Country Park and organisers have promised it will be their best yet!

Pick and carve a pumpkin, see how many creepy crawlies you can spot in bug alley and keep your eyes peeled throughout the country park for pumpkin bingo. All this spook-tastic fun and lots more, including: monster bales and Horrid Hay tractor rides.

Tickets must be booked in advance. Adults: £7.50. Children: £7.50. Under 2s go free, but will still need a ticket.
