Summer Holiday Clubs Open This Summer

Published:

As things begin to return to normal and parents are starting to return to work, there is still the issue of childcare over the summer holidays. Now that there are government guidelines, some of our local holiday clubs, camps and classes are still running this summer, with these safety measures in place.

Below we have listed the clubs which ARE still running this Summer and their Covid-19 safety measures. Please note that most clubs are running with reduced numbers to adhere to social distancing so early booking is advised.

Mad Science

Camps will still be running, however they are not 100% confirmed as yet. They will likely be offering 3 different options:

  • Virtual ZOOM Camps - 1.5 hour hands-on STEM sessions with low parent involvement
  • Backyard Camps – Mad Science come to you for 2-3 hour backyard sessions. 4-10 kids.
  • In Person Camps - 10-3pm 1 week camps in some of our usual venues, with additional safety precautions in place.

Every option, activity and venue will be risk assessed. More info here

Next Thing Education Camps

There are some limited camps running with Covid-19 safety precautions in place. More info here. The safety video can be viewed here.

The Nurture Children's Club

The club will be running if there is enough demand. There will be an increased focus on health for everyone with temperature checks likely on arrival and staff will undertake increased cleaning between activities and after sessions to keep areas clean and safe.

  • Similar age children and siblings will be grouped in ‘bubbles’ of no more than 15 children to one adult, this may be less depending on children’s ages.
  • Signing in and out will take place with 2m social distancing measures in place.  Different bubbles may have separate signing in and exit areas.
  • The range of nurturing activities is being redesigned in order to allow children to have fun while still keeping to social distancing and will make lots of use of the fantastic grounds and large hall area.

More info here.

We Activate

We Activate are launching a new programme of coaching sessions, to ensure that children remain active this summer. Children will be able to take part in 90-minute coaching sessions focusing on fitness and technical development in a chosen sport. Sessions will run five days a week, with three different session start times each day. These coaching sessions will follow all relevant government and sporting governing body guidance, with the operation of ‘bubbles’ of up to five children per session, social distancing, frequent hand and equipment washing, and new operating procedures. More info here.

Langley Tennis

Although tennis camps are unable to run at the present time, outdoor courts are available to hire for members and non-members and coaches are also allowed to give private lessons. More info here.

Game On Sports Coaching

Game on Sports Coaching has adapted their holiday course format and this summer will be running morning and afternoon sessions weekly. Due to limited spaces, children cannot attend both the morning and afternoon sessions. Children will participate in groups of 5 - this is based on the current social distancing guidelines for sports clubs and they will review this periodically in line with Government guidance. All courses will follow the latest Covid-19 Government guidelines and rules.

At the moment bookings are only being taken for children who are creating their own ‘bubble’ of 5 children and bookings for individual children will open on Tuesday 7th July through the website. More info here.

Challenge Sport & Education

Holiday courses are running but with some changes to normal procedures. There will be a decreased capacity of a maximum of 15 children per venue per week and social distancing will be enforced along with temperature checks at drop off. Courses are open to children who are currently in Year 1 - Year 6 only. Non-contact sport will be played but other variations of games such as basketball / hockey / football etc. will be played. More info on how the courses will run can be found on this video here. More info here.
