The Dacorum Volunteer Police Cadets (DVPC)has been set up to provide a positive and disciplined environment for young people from a cross section of the Dacorum community. As our name suggest the group is based in Dacorum and open to young people between the ages of 14 and 18, the application criteria will require the Cadet to live or go to school in the Dacorum area. Dacorum is made up of Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Berkhamsted and Tring. The meetings are held at Hemel Hempstead School on a Tuesday evening between 1900hrs and 2100hrs. This is on fortnightly basis. The group is lead and run solely by volunteers from both police and civilian backgrounds and has the full support of Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Camping - Work on your survival skills and learn your strengths in a team. Easter/summer camps - As you advance in rank you can take part in these popular camps held at RAF stations around the UK. Overseas camps - Spend 10 days in Cyprus with fantastic weather, swimming, sailing, and maybe even see the Red Arrows practise their displays (they train there). Head to Germany where you'll visit a city or cemetery from the First and Second World Wars. You may even get to fly in helicopters - another exciting possibility for cadets. Adventurous training - A huge part of cadet training. Rock climbing, abseiling, high-level hill walking, mountain-biking, canoeing, high rope work and sailing are all par for the course.
