Scott's Grotto is a series of interconnected chambers, extending some 67ft into the chalk hillside. It is rumoured to have cost £10,000 and is thought to have taken 30 years to complete. The chambers and tunnels are lined with shells, flints and pieces of coloured glass. The grotto is open 2-4.30pm on each Saturday & Bank Holiday Monday between April 1st and September 28th.

Explore the grounds of St Albans Cathedral with our tree trail! Our tree trail is fun for the whole family. Discover the history of some of the most ancient trees in St Albans, learn to recognise the different species and find out all about their uses and symbolism, past and present.The trail takes around 45 minutes to complete. St Albans Museum + Gallery opened to the public in June 2018 as a world-class centre for arts and culture at the heart of one of Britain's most historic cities. Set over three floors, the state-of-the-art gallery spaces will showcase over 2,000 years of priceless heritage and display contemporary artworks - sharing local, national and world treasures with all.
