Nearest toilets in the Gibraltar Castle pub opposite on Lower Luton Road. This park is next to the Batford Springs Local Nature Reserve. In the winter the hill that the park sits on is perfect for sledging!

Wonderful playground situated in Southdown, Harpenden with fantastic wooden play equipment - slides, swings, large boat climbing structure, basket swing, toddler rockers, wooden house. No toilet facilities. Picnic benches.. Accessed via Oakley Road, visible from Grove Road.

Refurbished in 2019 There is a fenced-in play area for young children which includes swings, climbing and slide combination, rocker, tea cup twister, and wooden log trim trail. Outside the fenced in area is a football pitch, basketball net, cricket stumps and wooden trim trail. There is a lot of green space to run about, and benches to sit on.

The entrance is a little tricky to find as the park is tucked away behind houses at the top of Pickford Hill, but there is a car park opposite Fulmore Close by the flats. No toilet facilities.

Rothamsted Park covers 23 hectares and provides a home for many of the town's sport and recreational activities including the Skate Park, a fabulous play area newly-refurbished in 2021, floodlit courts for tennis, netball and 5-a-side football, the swimming pool and sports centre , 2 cricket squares, several football pitches, and an orienteering course .
