Bosinver Farm – A Magical Family Escape in Cornwall

We’ve just returned from another wonderful week at Bosinver Farm in St Austell, Cornwall – and it’s easy to see why we keep coming back. Bosinver isn’t just a place to stay, it feels like its own little village, filled with character, charm, and endless opportunities for family adventures.

The accommodation is perfect for families. We stayed in a beautiful, thoughtfully designed cottage, where everything we could possibly need for the children was ready and waiting – bed guards, cots, high chairs, even a selection of toys. The attention to detail is spot-on, blending homely comfort with a touch of luxury.

The setting itself is idyllic – nestled in the Cornish countryside, with open spaces to explore and wildlife everywhere you look. From our cottage we could see horses grazing, and the children loved spotting the ducks and chickens wandering freely around the farm.

One of our absolute highlights was joining Farmer Dave each morning to help feed the animals. The kids were thrilled to feed the ducks and chickens, then move on to goats, sheep, and even lambs. Collecting a freshly laid egg from the hen house to take back for breakfast was a simple joy that made their day.

On-site, Bosinver is amazing for little ones. There’s an outdoor play area with a sandpit and trampoline, indoor soft play, tennis courts, a Gruffalo trail, a sensory garden, woodland walks, and even a heated indoor swimming pool you can book for private family time. There’s also a small gym for the grown-ups – though chasing the kids around probably counts as cardio!

The children’s undisputed favourite? Pony rides. Watching all three of ours ride with beaming smiles was priceless – although I suspect we’ve accidentally sparked an expensive new hobby!

We also tried the Wild Kids Club, which offers amazing outdoor adventures like den building and toasting marshmallows. It’s such a fun way for children to connect with nature while giving parents a little breather.

Bosinver also makes family life wonderfully easy. There are washing machines and tumble dryers available, so you don’t have to pack half your wardrobe. They provide all the beach gear you could need – from buckets and spades to windbreakers – plus wellies and splash suits for exploring the woods or puddle-jumping on rainy days. You can even pick up your dinner from reception, where there’s a freezer stocked with delicious home-cooked meals, and the welcome of a freshly baked cake on arrival is the perfect start to your stay.

When you’re ready to venture beyond the farm, Bosinver is perfectly located for exploring Cornwall’s beaches and attractions. Make sure to flick through Nanny Pat’s Guide when you arrive – it’s full of brilliant local tips.

Bosinver Farm has such a warm, family feel, where nothing is too much trouble and every detail encourages children to explore, discover, and make magical memories. For us, it’s a little slice of Cornish heaven, and we can’t wait to go back.
