Laptop/Tablet Recycling - Can you help?

Published:

Computer Friendly is a local charity (operating in AL1 - AL5) that normally runs face-to-face IT courses but can’t at the moment. Instead it has a small team of volunteers recycling old machines and giving them to people who need them - especially families with children who are having to learn online.

Do you have an old laptop or tablet that you could donate for recycling?

LAPTOPS (PC & Macbook)
Less than 10 years old
Will start up
Runs Window 7, 8 or 10 (PC)
Has its power adapter

TABLETS (iPads and Android)
Will start up (Please do a factory reset if required to erase all data before donating)

Unfortunately they are not accepting desktops (PCs and iMacs) as they are too bulky.

Laptops and tablets which don’t meet the requirements could still be useful for spare parts as would USB mice, power adapters etc.

What about my personal data?
The laptop hard drive may be removed destroyed! If you need advice to save your data before donating it, please get in touch with them.
